Mooj Virtuemart Pro Search is a professional search component for the Joomla shopping cart „Virtuemart“.  It consists of a search suggestions module for the frontend, an AJAX profi-search for the backend and the main component..ProSearch is a so-called „out of the box“software and installs all parts at a time.

ProSearch is available in a commercial and a non-commercial release.

The non-commercial release is available free at charge and can be downloaded via Mooj.org.

The non-commercial version contains a copyright back link. We consider it as a small “thank you” for the free version.

Further, the non-commercial version of Virtuemart Pro Search has no AJAX admin search but a simple admin search module

Please note that this extension works only with the VirtueMart component AND ONLY
ON JOOMLA 1.5.x ! We don't plan any Joomla 1.7+ compatible version!

What can I do with this extension?

Search-Suggestion-Modul for the frontend

With this module you can search for VirtueMart products.

While typing the search term, product suggestions will be displayed in a separate window.

The suggestions module…

• can be applied to the entire range of virtuemart products or to product categories. 
  The specification of a category can be applied at the drop down left hand to the virtuemart search box.
• highlights’  the sequence of letters found in the suggestion window.
• is visually customizable easily vua the module parameters.
• supports multilingualism  
  (ONLY THE VIEW OF THE SEARCH MODULE! NO SEARCH OF PRODUCTS IN DIFFERENT LANGUAGES!!)
• is based on none Javascript framework so there will be fewer conflicts with other scripts. The module script is optimized in size and performance.
• suggestions may be selected with the mouse and the cursor keys.

AJAX-Admin-Search

The AJAX-Admin-Search is the heart of this component. It saves a lot of time in your daily work with VirtueMart. It is made to receive important information from anywhere in the admin area and to link you to the appropriate VirtueMart masks with one click.

The AJAX-Admin-Search in detail:

The most powerful virtuemart search function is the customer search. Enter few letters and ProSearch searches for company name, username and normal name and gives you detailed suggestions. You can hover over suggestions and view the latest orders of a customer. One click and you get to the customer details or to the appropriate order. You can also select suggestions by using the keyboard instead of the mouse.

Light Version

ProSearch is also available in a free light edition.

This release contains a copryright link in the front end.
We consider it as a small „thank you“ for the free version.

Further, the non-commercial version of ProSearch has no AJAX admin search but a simple admin virtuemart search module.

You don't need to uninstall the light edition before upgrading to PRO!
Just install PRO as usual and all settings will retain.

We don’t offer support for the lite edition!

Technical Requirements Pro and Light

• Joomla 1.5x +
• Apache 2.x + Server (ProSearch has only been tested on Apache)
• PHP 5+ (possible PHP 4.x+  Test it with the light version!)
• MySQL 4+
• Virtuemart needs to be installed.
• Tested compatibility with admin template „Khepri“. 
  No guarantee for other admin templates.
• Light version is not compatible with the extended layout of VirtueMart!
• Javascript and cookies must be enabled.
• Standard compliant Joomla template.
• Write and read permissions via the Joomla Framework.
